NZFGC made a call-out to members and FMCG companies and organisations around the world to donate to support families affected by the mosque shootings in Christchurch.
The call to the international community was made via Katherine Rich’s LinkedIn page. Here is the letter emailed directly to members:

Dear FGC members,

We know that like us you will be horrified by the utterly tragic events that took place in Christchurch on Friday afternoon, and that you join with FGC as we send our thoughts and sympathy to the families of the people killed or wounded or otherwise caught up in those events. This is not something we ever thought possible on our shores.

At this time, FGC thought it appropriate to show the support of the sector to our neighbours and friends in the Muslim community. We have been in contact with Ali Hamza, General Manager of Bluebird/Pepsico, and Imraan Ali, Country Manager of SC Johnson who are both part of that community, and we very much appreciate their guidance and leadership. They have indicated that making a financial contribution to one of the several public charities would be particularly helpful.

Members can do that on the official Givealittle page by clicking this link, or donating directly to the NZ Muslim Association Charity Special Project Account (BNZ Bank): Account Number: 02-0176-0213886-05 a. Reference: Chc Appeal

Thank you for helping show the FMCG sector’s solidarity at this time of great sadness.

Tim Deane, Chair, NZFGC
