The NZ Food & Grocery Council invites members and our wider community of packaging producers, brand owners, and retailers to a webinar on ‘Designing a circular economy for plastic packaging’ to present the 2023 Plastics Consumption Survey results and launch the 2024 Survey.

How much plastic the food and grocery sector consumed in 2023?
How are we tracking at reducing hard-to-recycle plastics?
️How much plastic packaging is placed on the NZ market every year across all sectors?
♻️ How much is collected for recycling and how much is being processed?

We will present the results from the 2023 Plastics Survey. The survey includes data from 140 organisations with further analysis conducted of the 124 companies that are involved in the food & grocery retail sector – capturing 85% of the market.

We also will provide an update on the progress of the Plastic Packaging Product Stewardship Scheme design.
