Sanitarium’s COVID-19 Response Management Standard

Sanitarium has developed a very comprehensive trans-Tasman COVID-19 supply chain safety standard and has made it available to FGC members who may be looking for ideas. Sanitarium developed the standard to ensure staff interaction in its manufacturing and distribution areas were as safe as could be. The standard sets out a framework in which it can achieve safe person-to-person contact so neither employees nor the business is exposed to unacceptable risk. It covers required outcomes and management principles to reduce workers’ risk of exposure in the workplace, identification and management of worker exposure based on priority areas, physical distancing and people management, personal and workplace hygiene, and sets out a response plan for if an employee becomes a confirmed case of COVID-19, a suspected case, or who has been in close contact with a confirmed case.
