FSNI and Mental Health Awareness Week

This is Mental Health Awareness Week (8-14 October), and Foodstuffs North Island is acknowledging it by holding sessions for staff at its Auckland headquarters, and providing resource material for stores to present to staff.

A safety pack has been delivered to all stores and sites, and includes a PowerPoint presentation as well as hard-copy resources: wall posters and bookmarks (from the Mental Health Foundation), pockets cards and a guide for managers (from Open Minds), and a one-page info sheet for employees (from Foodstuffs’ ‘It’s OK not to be OK’ campaign).

Topics covered by the PowerPoint include what is mental health, what is wellbeing, why mental health is important, what can the workplace do to improve mental wellbeing, early warning signs, questions to ask team members if a concern about their health, options for support, helplines, what to do if worried about a team member self-harming, and available resources.
