FGC welcomes Chris Quin to Foodstuffs North Island
11 May 2015
The Food & Grocery Council welcomes the appointment of Chris Quin as Managing Director of Foodstuffs North Island to replace Murray Jordan.
Chief Executive Katherine Rich says Chris Quin is a proven business leader whose appointment will be well received among the grocery supplier community.
“This is a crucial position in a vital industry which I believe will benefit from his experience and expertise.
“He has proved himself in the cut-throat telecommunications world after 23 years at Telecom and Spark – most recently as CEO of Spark Home, Business, and Mobile and before that of Telecom Retail – and that should stand him in great stead in the competitive FMCG sector.
“I look forward to working with him.”
Mrs Rich commends Foodstuffs North Island for the high level of engagement they maintained leading up to the appointment, including seeking the views of key stakeholders such as industry associations and the supermarket workers’ union.
“We appreciate Chairman Peter Anderson’s personal call to FGC prior to the announcement to inform us of the news.”
FGC will pay tribute to the contribution of outgoing Managing Director Murray Jordan at its Annual General Meeting this week.
“Murray Jordan played a stellar role in our industry and will leave his role holding the respect and admiration of the New Zealand supplier community.”
