Berkeley soft-drink tax 'not serving its purpose'

The first-ever US soft-drink tax may not be going as well as expected, according to a recent study by economists.

Food Navigator-USA reports that higher prices have not been passed on to consumers, and quotes one economist saying simply taxing sugar-sweetened beverages is a short-sighted way to fight obesity, as there are plenty of other products that contribute to obesity.
