Directors' Duties - FGC/Simpson Grierson Seminar April 2

The FGC/Simpson Grierson Seminar on Directors' Duties is now taking place on Wednesday 2 April. It will be presented by John Rooney and Craig Nelson from Simpson Grierson in light of health and safety issues that have arisen recently. The date was changed because it clashed with the Foodstuffs supplier event.  John and Craig will discuss key lessons from cases and how these translate to general directors' responsibilities and day-to-day board activities.  In particular, the discussion will focus on proposed legislative changes and impacts on directors' duties, including health and safety, criminalisation of directors' duties, and the concept of corporate manslaughter, referring to the impact on directors' duties of the Royal Commission's Report on the Pike River coal mine tragedy, good Governance Practices Guideline for Managing Health and Safety Risks, and proposed reforms of Working Safer - A Blueprint for Health and Safety at Work by the Government.
