FGC is partnering with global management consultancy firm A.T. Kearney to bring the Factory of the Year competition to New Zealand.
The competition is the international standard for measuring operational performance. It has operated in Europe for more than 25 years with participation by hundreds of both multinational and local companies.
Entries are now open, and close on 28 February. Participation is free. It requires an investment of approximately five man days to complete the initial questionnaire.
FGC welcomes the competition to New Zealand and encourages members to participate. We see it as an important initiative aimed at promoting the competitiveness of the New Zealand food and grocery processing sector and its importance to the economy.
Recognition across industry and publicly is a great way to enhance reputation and drive improvement. It’s also great way of identifying and driving the improvement needed to maintain competitiveness both locally and globally, with all participants receiving independent industry-specific performance feedback that can flow through their whole operation.
Finalists for the Factory of the Year award will be visited by A.T. Kearney’s manufacturing specialists for a 1-day site assessment, and winners will be acknowledged at an awards ceremony in May.
